Austin's economic growth remains uneven, but several areas are showing strength. Here is a look at some new hires in some of Austin's hotter job segments.
Technology
After six years at Texas State University in various technical roles, Jesse Mangold was ready for a change.
An online job search led him to Banker's Toolbox, a fast-growing, 45-person Austin software comapany that has more than doubled its workforce over the past year.
When Mangold was hired as a systems administrator in March, he said he knew immediately that it was a good fit.
"The environment is completely different than anything I've experienced," he said.
