Tom T. Shen
Tom is the founder of Software Dynamics, Incorporated, a West Hills, California company that developed teller and platform automation software since 1982. In 2001, Tom sold his company to S1 Corporation (NASDAQ: SONE), a leading global provider to more than 4,000 banks, credit unions, and insurance providers of enterprise software solutions. He served as General Manager with S1 for 2 years, successfully transitioning and growing S1’s branch business by over 50%. He retired from S1 in September 2003.
Prior to joining the advisory board for Banker’s Toolbox, Tom served as an officer in the role of Executive Vice President at Digital Insight (NASDAQ:DGIN), an internet banking and payments provider. He oversaw operations and helped launch a family of industry-changing on-line services. In February 2007, Intuit Corporation (NASDAQ:INTU) acquired Digital Insight. Tom currently serves as board and advisory member of several private companies and organizations. He is married and has three children. He is active within his church, the Community Christian Alliance Church, where he contributes in teaching, mentoring, and growth group ministries.
Matt Bowen
Matt Bowen is senior vice president and general manager of FIS’ document and check imaging product lines, which includes the company’s market-leading branch, teller, vault and remote deposit capture solutions. In this role, Matt’s primary responsibilities include P&L oversight, customer service, growth initiatives, and product line expansion. He joined FIS in 1994, through its acquisition of Aurum Technology in 2004. He and his family are based in Dallas, Texas.
Charles (Chuck) Lewis
Chuck, who began his banking career over 30 years ago, was formerly Director of Risk Management with RSM McGladrey. He also served as President of UMB Consulting Services, Inc., a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation. For over 20 years, he was Director of Regulatory Services for UMB Financial Corporation in Kansas City. In the winter of 2009, Chuck became Vice President in the Compliance Services Division of the Missouri Bankers Association.
A Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, Chuck frequently speaks at programs sponsored by the American Bankers Association and numerous state banking associations. In 2004, he received the Distinguished Service Award at the ABA’s Regulatory Compliance Conference, which is presented to recognize outstanding leadership, initiative, and accomplishment in banking’s regulatory compliance management profession. He is a past member of the ABA’s Executive Compliance Committee and Missouri Bankers Association’s Compliance Task Force Committee, and a current faculty member for the Barret School of Banking (Memphis), the Schools of Banking in Iowa, the Missouri School of Bank Management, the compliance school for the Oklahoma Bankers Association and the Graduate School of Banking in Wisconsin.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University.
Katherine McLain
Katherine McLain brings 20+ years experience as a revenue focused attorney and regulatory professional with small and medium sized companies including a start up venture. Her experience in house includes four unique acquisitions sized form $1-4 million as well as asset sales and vc fundraising. She has held senior roles Wells Fargo, Bankserv, Discovery Foods, Getsmart.com and Fremont Bank. Katherine holds multiple state broker licenses, including CA, FL, CO, TX, OR and WA. Katherine is Corporate Counsel at Silicon Valley Bank in San Jose, CA. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Santa Clara University School of Law. A San Francisco native, she lives in Castro Valley, CA with her family.
Daniel Cho
Daniel is a former banker with over 21 years of experience in the financial industry. He founded Banker’s Toolbox in 2000 after 12 years at various community banks in Southern California as Operations Officer, Loan Officer, IT Manager, SBA Loan Manager, and Planning Officer. His diverse background of operations, marketing, and technology experience provides him with a unique understanding of the challenges facing community and regional institutions, both from a business as well as technology standpoint.
